Little Stars is a unique programme developed specifically for reception-aged students promoting fun learning, whilst exploring the three disciplines of musical theatre. Students will be encouraged to learn, explore, develop and create within a safe environment. They will receive reports twice a year on their progress and efforts.
The session will be spilt into 4 micro sessions. Sessions will include warm up exercises and fun games to encourage trust and build relashionships within the group. The micro sessions cover the following three disciplines of musical theatre
Drama: Students will learn about expressing character through physical expressions. They will be taught about empathy and learn to realise this emotion in their acting through role-play and imagination.
Singing: Students will be taught the basic breathing techniques which form the foundation for any good singer. Correct posture will be taught along with techniques on projection. Little Stars may be taught singing with Bright Stars
Dance: The dance workshops are designed to teach the students about rhythm and timing. They will be taught how to pick up basic routines quickly and keep in time with the group.
Students will be taught in classes of no more than 20 in a professional dance studio with mirrored wall, drama studio and music room to maximise their ability to learn. Little stars groups will always have two members of staff present at all times
Teachers will recognise and nurture individual talent and children who excel in all three areas will be invited to move up to the next stage, from the age of 6.
